Acceptance

I never thought I’d end up here
In such a lonely place
And never thought I’d have this look
Of sadness on my face

And lying here all by myself
This pain I can’t deny
Yet nothing I can do will stop
The days from passing by

But how was I to know that life
Would toss me this surprise
And how was I to know these tears
Would pour down from my eyes

I can only live my life
The best way that I can
Accepting every tear that falls
As part of God’s great plan
